Wednesday 25th September is World School Milk Day 2024 and the pupils of St Bride’s Primary School in Belfast raise a glass of milk to celebrate the return of the school term and with it, the return of breaktime milk!

The Dairy Council for Northern Ireland says a refreshing drink of milk at breaktime can help beat thirst and provide a powerful boost to meeting children’s nutrient needs. A 189ml carton of school milk will provide more than half of a Key Stage 1 child’s calcium, phosphorus, iodine, vitamin B2 and vitamin B12 requirements and around a third of their potassium and protein needs.
