SILENCES

+ Special guests Orchid Collective

Bar Sub,

QUB Student’s Union, Belfast

Friday 24th November 2017

Delighted to announce Silences + special guests Orchid Collective will perform at Bar Sub this November.

Silences, led by singer and songwriter Conchur White (with the line–up completed by Christopher Harbinson, Breándan White, Jonathan Downing and Michael Keyes) – have received critical acclaim for their three EPs ‘Nevernames’, ‘Sister Snow’ and ‘Luna’. The Irish based act has received considerable support from the likes of Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart (BBC Radio 1) as well as Clash, Other Voices, XFM, Amazing Radio, RTE, Tom Robinson (BBC 6 Music) and Gary Lightbody (Snow Patrol).

Silences’ music has been streamed over five million times on Spotify and they have become one of the most talked about acts from Northern Ireland. Recent highlights include performances at BBC Introducing (Latitude), Reeperbahn, The Great Escape and Electric Picnic as well as their first UK and Irish tours. This tour included a show in O2 Shepherd’s Bush. They also played the Greenpeace and Rabbit Hole stages Glastonbury in 2017.

Working closely with producers Declan Legge (SOAK/Ciaran Lavery) Silences have managed to capture a sound which has been described by the BBC as beautifully understated and extremely inventive. Comparisons have been drawn to Jeff Buckley, Alt–J and Death Cab For Cutie.
