Killyhevlin Lakeside Hotel in Co Fermanagh has announced a £1.4 million investment in fourteen new lakeside lodges constructed by FastHouse, a modular construction company based in Limavady. 

The lodges, situated on the bank of the scenic Lough Erne, were constructed in under 5 months using FastHouses’ signature closed panel timber frames, which are assembled offsite reducing completion times by up to 70% to ensure minimal waste and maximum efficiency.

According to Leigh Watson, from Killyhevlin Hotel, Fermanagh has played an integral role in the expansion of the tourism sector in Northern Ireland, which has seen a 12% increase with 1.1 million visitors recorded in 2016, yet quality self–catering accommodation facilities have not met this increasing demand.

Commenting on the new development at Killyhevlin and the role it can play in supporting holiday and tourist accommodation developments, Leigh said,

“Considerable planning and meticulous design work has gone into the creation of our state of the art lodges, which will provide a major boost to the local tourism sector. We have worked closely with FastHouse to ensure the lodges merge perfectly within the breath–taking setting on Lough Erne and we believe the results are a template for this form of holiday accommodation anywhere in the UK or Ireland. It was important to deliver a stylish quality build for such an outstanding setting, and to deliver the construction in such an efficient way demonstrates the role that FastHouse can play in addressing the shortage of holiday accommodation in Northern Ireland.”
