Electric Ireland will power a nostalgia–driven Throwback Party at Stradbally this year

Electric Ireland, the official energy partner of Electric Picnic, is reeling in the years with its #ThrowbackParty at Ireland’s biggest music festival. Attendees of the sold–out, three day festival can expect to enjoy a feast of nostalgic entertainment spanning the ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s at the Electric Ireland stage. The first act to be announced are pop–synth princesses Bananarama, who will perform floor–filling classics like Cruel Summer, Venus and Love in the First Degree on the Saturday night.

In addition to great Throwback music acts and daily dance–offs to throwback hits, attendees will also be able to take time out to chill while enjoying classic movies such as Grease and Top Gun, all hosted at the Electric Ireland stage throughout the weekend.

Speaking about their upcoming performance at Electric Picnic on Saturday night September 3rd, Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward of Bananarama remarked, “We are so excited to play Electric Picnic for the first time where we’ll take to the stage at Electric Ireland’s Throwback Party. We haven’t played in Ireland for a long time and have really missed playing to an Irish crowd.”

As official energy partner to Electric Picnic, Electric Ireland also installs six kilometres of energy efficient festoon lighting around the campsites and walkways to guide festivalgoers around the festival.
