Translink is today celebrating the opening of the new Dundonald Park & Ride facility with free car parking for over 500 cars and a dedicated service providing a 15 minute frequency during peak periods. Passengers can travel from just £2.80 per day with a Smartlink card, with services operating between 7am – 7pm Monday to Friday.

Carol Lundy, Brand Manager at Translink commented, “The new park and ride facility at Dundonald offers parking for 521 cars, a passenger waiting facility and is a new and easy way to travel to and from City Centre, avoiding costly parking and offering the convenience of leaving the car behind.

“This Christmas, we hope to inspire more passengers to experience firsthand the many benefits of our Park and Ride facilities which offer flexibility, convenience and cost savings, especially as the fare is considerably less than Belfast City Centre parking. As the festive season approaches, we are seeking to make life better for our passengers who can save money on fuel and parking and spend more time relaxing or catching up with friends.”

Translink has targeted over 15,000 homes in the Newtownards and Dundonald area with promotional literature on the new facility and is offering passengers an exclusive opportunity to avail of 5 journeys for £5 with a Smarklink card – a saving of £6*.

The 4X Metro service is a limited stop service departing every 15-20 minutes from Dundonald Park & Ride during morning peak times and every 15-20 minutes from the City Centre during evening peak times.

Ulsterbus services Nos 5, 5D, 5F, 7A, 9 and 10 will also pick-up and drop-off at Dundonald Park & Ride every 20 minutes throughout the rest of the day.  Passengers can also avail of Metro 4 services which operate every 10 minutes from Upper Newtownards Road during peak times.
