Maria Filippov, Dancing on Ice Ultimate Champion and resident coach at Dundonald Ice Bowl is pictured with 11 year old Sophie Clarke, Dundonald Ice Skating Club and Damien Bannon, Metro Belfast Area Manager to help remind Metro passengers about more frequent Metro services on the 18 and 19 routes operating between Dundonald and the city centre.

Damien Bannon, Metro Belfast Area Manager said, “This is the first route since the introduction of Metro in 2005 to be upgraded to high frequency corridor status.  The improved frequency is one element of a series of improvements to services in the East and reflects the increasing popularity of the route.

“Hopefully these improvements will be well received by existing customers and help encourage more journeys, no doubt many of them to the excellent recreational and entertainment facilities in the Ice Bowl and surrounding area.

“There is now a service at least every 10 minutes for anyone travelling between Ballyhackamore and the city centre and better connections to Dundonald Ice Bowl particularly for anyone travelling from Beersbridge, Bloomfield and Tullycarnet with services operating every 20 minutes.”

Timetable information is available from the Metro Kiosk, Visit Belfast or visit www.translink.co.uk or call 028 90 66 66 30. Passengers can also download the Journey Planner app to make it even easier to plan their next trip.
