The event which is being supported by Harp lager will see renowned artists Derek and Jim take to the stage for what is set to be a fun filled weekend with great country and western performances as well as highlights from many musical genres that everyone can enjoy.
Rising star Derek Ryan is making tremendous strides in the world of country music and has risen steadily in recent times from his early performances with his brother Adrian as the ‘Ryan Brothers’ right through to a pop career with an international band, he has now become one of today’s biggest Irish Country artists. Local Tyrone man Jim Devine is also planning a big show for his festival performance. After capturing the hearts of many in the ‘The Voice of Ireland,’ he has made a big impact on the music scene and is now playing across the island of Ireland with a brilliant band at his back.
Martin Venning, Diageo Northern Ireland, said: “Diageo is committed to supporting a dynamic and growing tourism industry and through our partnership with the Hooley in the Valley we can help to showcase hospitality sector and support the industry to help it reach its full potential.
“We are really looking forward to welcoming a great line up of first class artists for Irish country music fans and what better way to celebrate the diversity and range of local talent coming to the town than with Diageo’s iconic brand Harp, which will play such an important role in providing visitors with a unique and authentic experience. Country fans are passionate about music and we believe the festival will provide an opportunity for our customers to celebrate the great talent that we have coming to the heart of Co. Tyrone.”
Commenting on the festival, Head of PR, Brendan Trainor said, “The Augher Summer Festival, incorporating Hooley in the Valley, has grown into one of the most significant festivals of its kind across the island of Ireland. This year’s event is set to surpass all others with a suite of activity including a great line up of local dancers participating in the first ever ‘Stricly Augher.’
“We are delighted to bring leading country stars Jim and Derek to the stage in and we know that they are really looking forward to playing at the Hooley. Through the continued support of Harp lager and the commitment of such great acts, the festival continues to be a great boost for, and investment in, Augher and its surrounding communities. The festival marquee will be buzzing with some of the best live country music and we are looking forward to welcoming an eclectic mix of fans that will converge in Co.
