With interest rates at an all time low, the introduction of new rules relating to Cash ISAs will be a welcome boost for savers enabling them to set more tax-free money aside and provide them with added flexibility regarding the management of their cash and investments.
Welcoming the increase to the Cash ISA limits, Darina Armstrong, CEO Progressive Building Society said, “Since ISAs were first introduced in 1999 they have proved to be popular amongst savers and these new rules allow more cash to be saved tax free with the transfer procedures being simplified.
“We believe that savings are a key strength of society supporting a more rounded and robust economy and we would encourage people to develop the habit of saving each month. The launch of our new Clockwork Regular ISA Saver a monthly cash savings account, allows our members to save between £20 and £1,250 per month. Through regular monthly savings using life stage milestones as incentives including university fees, weddings, house purchases as well as the unknown rainy day, financial stability and the potential to meet life’s financial challenges can appear much easier.”
Progressive, which celebrates its centenary this year and whose main business is savings and mortgage lending, has experienced staff on hand in each of its 12 strong branch network offering face to face assistance and guidance to customers in relation to its savings products.
Darina Armstrong continued, “At Progressive, we're committed to helping our members buy their own homes and ensure they get a good return on their savings. Staff in all our branches are available to take customers through the best savings plan for them, ensuring they understand every step of the process.”
