One of newly appointed Lord Mayor, Nichola Mallon’s first duties was to welcome shoppers to Belfast City Centre as she lent support to the Translink Love Metro Saturdays’ campaign, which offers Metro passengers a special £2 fare with a Daylink card until the end of June.
Ciarán Rogan, Translink Marketing Executive commented, “We are delighted that the Lord Mayor is supporting our Love Metro Saturdays’ campaign and would like to congratulate her on her appointment.
“Love Metro Saturdays’ is very popular and means less hassle for people getting into the City for shopping; sight-seeing or socialising with friends. The Metro £2 Daylink ticket is great value and means no hassle hop on / off convenience.
“By freezing our fares for 2014, more people are choosing the bus and train. Translink is better for Belfast; already over half of all people coming to Belfast use bus or rail, and shoppers using Metro services spend over £35 per visit – and we are the best way to get to all the exciting events coming to the heart of our City.”
