Sixteen businesses, companies and organisations throughout Northern Ireland have been shortlisted for a prestigious Action Renewables Energy Award. The various organisations, including a number of school projects, have been identified by Action Renewables, the leading authority on renewable energy, for leading the way in terms of environmental practices and will compete with fellow finalists during the event.
The awards ceremony is supported by Tughans Solicitors and takes place at the Stormont Hotel on 20th March 2014. The awards aim to recognise companies who have demonstrated their commitment to the development and growth of the ‘green’ industry and will be judged on a number of key areas including their work to promote innovation and sustainability in the renewable energy sector.
Speaking on behalf of the judges, Michael Doran, Director of Action Renewables said; “This year the standard of entries was incredibly high and it is fantastic to see so many worthwhile renewable energy and sustainability initiatives being implemented throughout Northern Ireland. Our awards play a key part in recognising these projects and rewarding the companies and individuals behind them.
“There were also a number of new companies from both the public and private sectors entering this year, which further demonstrates the level of commitment that local businesses are showing to the development of the ‘green’ sector in Northern Ireland and we are looking forward to celebrating their success at the event.”
Keynote speaker for the awards has been confirmed as leader of the Green Party, Steven Agnew MLA and journalist Jamie Delargy will act as MC.
