Diageo Northern Ireland Announces Commitment to City of Culture 2013

Diageo Northern Ireland is delighted to announce a new commercial partnership with City of Culture 2013. The leading global drinks company will have exclusive pouring rights at the Ebrington Arena, and Ebrington Square events during Derry~Londonderry 2013 UK City of Culture  events. 

Diageo Northern Ireland is making a significant investment to support the growth of visitor numbers with a view to developing a lasting tourism legacy throughout, and beyond, Derry~Londonderry’s  City of Culture year in 2013.

Culture Company Chief Executive Shona McCarthy said the partnership demonstrated a continuing commitment to the 2013 celebrations by the business community.

“Diageo Northern Ireland is playing a hugely important role in helping to ensure that the local hospitality trade is properly prepared to meet the challenges of Derry~Londonderry’s year as City of Culture.

“Partnerships such as this with the business community are vital to ensure that the city makes the most of the opportunities that the UK City of Culture brings to the entire community,” concluded Shona.

Commenting, Paddy McKenna, Commercial Manager, Diageo Northern Ireland said “Diageo is proud to work in partnership with the tourism and hospitality industry and we are committed to supporting and investing in Derry~Londonderry at this very exciting time.  It is an honour that our iconic brands including Guinness, Harp, Bushmills and Baileys will play such an important role in providing visitors with a unique and authentic experience.
