The King’s Head Hosting ‘The Mangina Monologues’
The King’s Head, is delighted to announce that it will be hosting ‘The Mangina Monologues’ on Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd August as part of the Féile 2012 Festival programme.
Written and performed by Andrew Gibson ‘The Mangina Monologues’ is a light hearted evening of comedy with original musical accompaniment from pop and folk duo Fountains Fall.
Looking forward to the production Andrew said, “The show is not a musical but rather a comedy with songs. It is a satire of popular culture, featuring reality TV shows such as the Apprentice and Xfactor and is performed through a mixture of poetry; stand up comedy and character monologues.
“One of the characters includes Briege McSkinny who is swept away from her job in an abattoir to become a super model after winning Northern Ireland's Next Top Model. The humour is dark and edgy and if you are looking for an escape from the recession blues and want to laugh at reality TV instead of watching it, this is the night for you.”
Commenting on the event, King’s Head Manager John Leydon said, “We are delighted to be supporting Andrew as he aims to introduce Northern Ireland to the alternative cabaret scene. We are really looking forward to a great night’s entertainment and would encourage everyone to come along to the Live Lounge and soak up the atmosphere in this unique venue.”
Tickets are £8 and are available now from The King’s Head on 028 9050 9950 or purchase a three course meal and ticket for £20. Contains adult humour and strong language.
