McLeans bookmakers has announced a new three year sponsorship agreement with East Belfast-based Glentoran Football Club.  The sponsorship will run until the end of the 2015 season and represents a key investment in the financial restructuring of the club.

McLeans, which employs over 300 people across 61 shops, is the largest independent bookmakers in Northern Ireland and this new partnership is a natural fit for the local brand, according to Managing  Director Paul McLean, with the company having a strong presence across East Belfast.

Commenting, Paul McLean said: “Over many years we have made a significant investment in East Belfast, with nine offices employing 60 people in the area and we believe this sponsorship reflects our commitment to supporting the local community.  As a responsible business we want to give something back and support the good work that football and sport in general does within our communities. “Glentoran Football Club has a rich heritage, a proud history and we are very excited about playing our role in helping the Club to build foundations for a successful new future.”

Glentoran Director, Grahame Jenkins added: “This significant sponsorship announcement by the McLeans organisation provides vital support for Glentoran FC, especially at this time and is greatly appreciated by all connected with the club. It will undoubtedly help us plan for the next three years as we build for the future both on and off the field.

“Sponsorship plays an increasingly important role for sports provision and development, particularly in the current economic climate and it is through private company investment, such as McLeans with their local relevance that we are able to continue serving the community.”
