The Lagan Valley Island Conference Centre in Lisburn, with the support of BT and the BTnet service, has recently up-graded its Wi Fi capabilities enabling it to offer free public wireless access throughout the building.
With Lagan Valley Island being widely recognised as a leading conference and events venue, the Wi Fi facility is now scalable to suit conferences from 10 to 800 delegates. The centre attracts over 2,000 conferences, bookings and events each year and the introduction of this cutting edge technology will seek to further stimulate growth and stand out for the venue.
Councillor Stephen Martin, Chairman of the Corporate Services Committee at Lisburn City Council, said: “The Lagan Valley Island venue is now well established and the Council has worked hard to build on its reputation and customer base. We are delighted to offer free wireless access to all our visitors and hope the ease of this facility will make a visit to Lagan Valley Island, whatever the purpose, a little more enjoyable.”
Teddy Hall, Local government, Account Manager, from BT commented, “BT is committed to providing leading IT solutions and the configuration of public wireless at the Lagan Valley Island Conference Centre will certainly be welcomed by conference delegates and visitors alike. Up to 800 delegates will be able to surf the net or email simultaneously by simply typing in the access details which are available from reception. BT worked closely with the Island Centre to identify and address its IT requirements and we are confident that the Centre will reap the benefits for many years to come.”
