Translink is encouraging people to ‘Get Up and Go’ this summer as it unveils a range of great value bus and rail tickets for top holiday and tourist destinations across Northern Ireland, running throughout July and August.
“We have a wide variety of summer offers designed to help people experience the great day trips, festivals, events, scenery and activities that Northern Ireland has to offer. Whether people want to splash around Pickie Fun Park in Bangor, step back in time at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, explore the walled city of Derry~Londonderry or ramble around the beautiful countryside, our special summer promotions give customers a great value, hassle-free means of getting there,” said Louise Scott, Translink Brand Manager.
“We are also all aware of the many great events taking place as part of the NI2012 celebrations and at Translink we want to ensure that as many people as possible can travel to and experience these. Our summer offers are tailored to reflect this and have been developed with customers in mind. For instance, passengers can travel direct from Belfast to the newly opened Giants Causeway Visitor Centre on the Goldline Express 221 Service and receive discounted entry to the Centre.
“iLink cards also provide great value for integrated bus and rail travel and are available for five different zones throughout Northern Ireland. Additionally we have our Bus Rambler ticket which provides hop on hop off travel allowing people to explore the scenery and attractions in areas of outstanding natural beauty, including the Causeway or Mournes.”

Adult - £9 - NI Railways 1/3 off day return tickets after 9.30am- Friends and Family ticket - provides unlimited family travel by bus and rail for two adults and up to four children - £20- iLink – Smartcard for unlimited bus and rail travel for one day, one week or one month- Metro Family Day Ticket – two adults and up to four children travel anywhere, anytime on the Metro network- £9- Belfast Visitor Pass - smartcard providing unlimited bus and rail travel for 1, 2 or 3 consecutive days within the Belfast Visitor Pass Zone. The card entitles users to avail of a range of offers and discounts- Goldline - 1/3 off day return tickets after 9.30am on selected routes – 215, 218, 219, 238, 238a, 250, 251 & 256
Translink has also teamed up with a number of visitor attractions throughout Northern Ireland to provide special offers and discounts for bus and rail passengers. Visitors to all listed National Trust properties will receive two for one entry, as will guests to Belleek Pottery, the Ulster American Folk Park, the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum and Armagh Planetarium. Translink passengers can also avail of 10% discount on Titanic Walking Tours, 10% discount on purchases from Belfast Welcome Centre and receive £3 off a family ticket on the Legenderry Road Train upon presenting a Translink travel ticket.
