Martin Carter, of Lawrence Street Workshops, joins St. George’s Market stall-holders in Belfast to ring in the Olympic Games at 8.12am on 27th July. The bell was recycled from an air compressor tank and rung with an array of leather, rubber and wooden hammers as stallholders across the market rang everything from bicycle bells to hand bells for three minutes. Martin Creed’s All the Bells involved people across Northern Ireland ringing any kind of bell anywhere to celebrate the Games as part of London 2012 Festival.
